"Hate the sin, love the sinner"

The reason why we chose to do this quote by Gandhi, is because it had a powerful meaning to it, even if it's only 6 words long. It doesnt sound like much, but to us, it's like being able to forgive and to move on from something bad. Or if you cant forget what that person did, you'll always love them unconditionally.

"We're called to stop the bleeding," says Tworkowski. "We're called to change the world."

We chose this quote because it really shows what the foundation is about, and how he feels about what he is a part of. You can tell that Tworkowski really cares about what he's doing because of how he speaks of changing the world, and stoping self-harm. The term "Stop the Bleeding" can be found several places on the To Write Love on Her Arms webpage, and speaks about the self-harm portion of the cause.

Who? Gandhi
What? Peaceful Protests
Where? Born in India, but spread love around the world
When? 1869-1948
Why? Because he enforced the things he believed in, and even after he faced many obstacles, he continued his peace making around the world.
Connection? Both Gandhi and To Write Love on her Arms are people enforcing a peaceful movement. Gandhi saw the war and terror in his life and tried to fix them with peaceful protests. To Write Love on her Arms has a logo saying "Love is the Movement" signifying their peaceful protest to save others.

To Write Love On Her Arms.
What- It is an organization that is strongly dedicated to helping and supporting young teens and adults who were broken by drugs, depression, and self-harm.
Who- To Write Love on Her Arms was started by a guy named Jamie Tworkowski.
When- He thought of the idea back in 2006, about ten months ago.
Why- The reason he started this organization was because of a girl he meant, named Renee. Now at the time, Renee had a problem with drug addiction, depression and cutting. He later learned her whole story and realized that there are so many other people in the world struggling with the same problems.

ALSO, why is it resilient?- The organization, or at least the people it supports are resilient because they are trying to make a better life for themselves by going through re-hab centers. They are trying to make their lives peaceful and learning to get rid of the problem instead of making it worse.

"Depression is treatable"

Connection:
The connection between to write love on her arms and Gandhi is that, they both really wanted to spread peace and support it, whether it be peace in people's lives, or peace all over the world.
